Hi I am Bear,  I am a shy little guy until I know you, and then watch out because I love to play. You see its like this, my mommy and pappy had to move, so they packed up and hit the road with the kids and the other family dog. Guess what, yep your right, their new home only allows one dog so I was dumped at the shelter.

A nice lady from Eskie Rescue picked me up and now I am a happy camper with all her dogs around to keep me company.  Just stay tuned for updates on me.

UPDATE:

It has been a week since I arrived in my foster home. I am settling in a bit more every day. I love all my canine friends in my foster home and would enjoy a home with a canine friend to keep me company. I really like my Siberian friends in my foster home! Oh boy do they know how to play! I am very cautious when it comes to meeting new humans but give me time and I can warm up very quickly. Bear walks very well on leash and enjoys a stroll around the neighborhood.

UPDATE:

I went to see the veterinarian and he said I tested positive for Lyme so my foster mom is starting the treatment that is needed to help me get over this! I will be good as new and am ready to start looking for a place to call my own!

I have been in my foster home for a week now and am settling in. I love my canine companions! My all time favorite are the Siberians here! They really know how to play!

Update 4/26/12 I have finished all my Doxy for Lyme and am feeling like a new man! The vet says I am such a good boy! My foster mom says I am a good boy too and listen so well. I know sit, stay and come when I am called. I am not so sure about the car rides yet, for now I will just hide behind the seat until I get to where I am going. My foster mom says her favorite thing about me is the greet I give her in the morning when she gets up. I Woo her down the steps!!! She thinks this is great and I love to make people smile!

I really like it here but now I need a place to call my own so look out because I am ready to go! Won't you give me that chance?

Update 4/19/2013. Bear has experienced his third seizure as of yesterday. He had his first one 3 weeks after being in our home. He did not have another one until 5 months later and now he had his third one last night. The veterinarian will not treat him unless this becomes a chronic illness. He has had blood work and all has shown up well. This has not hampered Bear's life style in any way at all and he still loves to run jump and play. Bear loves the company of other dogs, preferably a female. He seems to have a lot more confidence in himself being around other dogs.

UPDATE Jan 11, 2013: Bear had a C6 test done and it showed that he is now Lyme free. He is still waiting for a permanent home. He is very sweet boy and would love to have a home to call his own.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
