Hey everyone, meet my new buddy Baxter! He needs your help finding his new family. This guy spent a few hours with us yesterday and my whole crew will tell you... He's a catch!

Baxter is a 75 pound, 1.5 yr old, fully vetted, house & crate trained, all around friendly guy! He was adopted as an older puppy, but as he grew, his (older) parents realized a hound/GSD mix might not be the best dog for them. They noted that he is perfectly calm and quiet with them inside the house, but they just don't feel like they can manage him physically outside the home... And they have been scared to take him out in case it did not go smoothly... So he sits in his yard alone day after day.

But! turns out that though he is a little unfamiliar with regular happy-dog-life and the ways of the world, he is actually GREAT with other animals big and small, loves to play, and is medium energy! He walks nicely on a leash, did great with off-leash play, shared some toys, did not run off, gave our grumpy old lady puggle her space, and play bowed the daylights out of our playful guy Diesel. Baxter was gentle with the kids, and didn't care at all about the kitty walking nearby. Super fast learner, and a gentle, loving soul. I give him an A+, and he is just getting started.

Now he just needs your help to find a family to put the sparkle back in his eyes. He would also love a doggie friend who can show him the ropes a little bit
And keep him busy and happy for the rest of his days.

Please send me a pm if you would like a million videos of him, or more information. :-) he is going to make
Some new family ridiculously happy. I just know it. :-) #helpBaxter

Baxter was going to be returned to the Shelter  because his owners were older folks and their son moved away and they don't have the energy for this very friendly boy. They figured it would look bad for him and he never did anything wrong.  We are not totally sure about his actual breed. /
