UPDATE:  Precious Annie was adopted by a lovely family with two young boys, two cats and another eskie.  Sadly, they had to remove all of their pets from the home and return Annie to ERU because their boys developed allergies to pet dander.  Here is what the family has to say about our girl:

"Annie is a wonderful dog.  She is sweet and has never been mean to a single person or animal while in our care.  My boys, myself and my husband have a very heavy heart having to give Annie back.  She is very playful, eats well and gets along great with other dogs and cats.  She is wonderful around children.  Annie is unique and one of a kind and we will miss her dearly.  We hope whoever is fortunate enough to adopt her is as happy as we were.  Tina"

Hi everyone!  I am Annie and I am a fun, sweet puppy.  I am a very pretty girl (my picture does not do me justice).  I was rescued from a shelter in Louisiana and I flew from New Orleans to Houston to Baltimore so I could get into a foster home with ERU.  As you can see I only have one eye but it does not hinder me in any way - I can keep the squirrels out of the yard with the best of them!  I love to play with the other dogs here and I am great with children and I play with cats.  I've been to the ophthalmologist to make sure my remaining eye is healthy and it is.  If you are interested in making me a part of your family please e-mail my foster mommy Kris at krishanbury@verizon.net

More about Annie of MD

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
