On Wednesday we said goodbye to our Louie In 2017 I saw a Fb post that he would be up for adoption (already having Annabella) I wanted to get a companion for her. I reached out to the rescue and Mayli Someillan (Louie’s foster mom) and inquired about adopting him. I had told Mayli that if Annabella (who is the boss) didn’t like Louie, I wouldn’t be able to keep him. She brought him to our house for a meet and greet and the rest is history. Over the years Louie lived in a loving home, was spoiled and received way too many treats. He had his routine and did his thing. We found out he had kidney failure and he was declining from his normal spunky self. On Wednesday he ate his chicken noodle soup and was laying in his spot next to where I sit at my counter. After 3pm he made a loud cry and I picked him up and he died in my arms. Russ (my husband) rushed home and as you can imagine we are devastated over the loss that many have unfortunately felt after the death of a pet I wanted to thank the rescue and Mayli for being a special part of our lives and giving us the opportunity to give Louie a loving home. Mayli and I developed a wonderful friendship over the years and I will always treasure that, and I appreciate her call and kind words after he passed. At the moment we have 2 dogs and will grieve the loss of Louie forever. I’m happy to be apart of a group that truly has a love for animals and we will continue to support the rescue❤️ Louie was a special boy and will live in our hearts forever❤️……..Dee Town, October 22, 2025

Earlier today we said goodbye to our sweet Louie. We adopted him in 2004 through ERU when Kelsey was headed to kindergarten and Chris was just 7. Now Kelsey is graduating HS in just a couple of weeks and Chris will soon be 21. Louie gave our family so much joy over the years and was the best boat dog ever. He was my constant companion - always by my side and we are all going to miss him so very much. Rest In Peace sweet boy. ❤️........Angie Lambert, May 9, 2017

Just received word that my sweet former ERU foster, Louie, went to the Bridge this morning. I'll sure miss that sweet pup! Thanks to Joe Duvo for being a great Dad and forever home to him for the last four years and for allowing me to visit.
