Earlier today we said goodbye to our sweet Louie. We adopted him in 2004 through ERU when Kelsey was headed to kindergarten and Chris was just 7. Now Kelsey is graduating HS in just a couple of weeks and Chris will soon be 21. Louie gave our family so much joy over the years and was the best boat dog ever. He was my constant companion - always by my side and we are all going to miss him so very much. Rest In Peace sweet boy. ❤️........Angie Lambert, May 9, 2017
Yesterday morning, Nika crossed over the rainbow bridge. The poor dear soul was hurting and having a hard time walking. Nika came to me a year and a half ago through ERU. I saw her sad and confused face in a post from the Humane Society in Cocoa Beach where her family took her to be euthanized after her owner died. She was mostly deaf, had a bad heart and old injuries that weren’t treated and left her with a severe limp... I felt she deserved better than to die alone in a shelter. She was sweet and easy going and spent most of her time in the laundry room that she claimed as her den. RIP sweet Nika. Run free and wild.......Jane Roberts, May 5, 2017
Zoey came to Eskie Rescues as a senior sponsorship R'Eskie, when her owner went into a nursing home. She lived out her final days in a loving home, where she enjoyed car rides and loved to be in the company of her foster. RIP sweet girl, run free and wild with the angels........April 13, 2017
Petunia's beloved mommy died and she, along with her beautiful brother and sister, came into Eskie Rescuers in early March, 2017. She had a heart murmur which was being treated. A few weeks after she arrived she had an idiopathic seizure episode, and afterwards her breathing was very labored and she started to cough non stop. A vet visit and exams confirmed our fears, than she was in congestive heart failure and was beginning to suffer. We said good bye to this very sweet senior today. We had so hoped she would spend several more years with us before leaving us. RIP Tunia, we love you..........March 30, 2017
Had to send Wisp to the Rainbow Bridge today. The estimate when they realized the cancer was back and in her lungs was 2-4 months. Three weeks later it was 1-2 months. She still seemed fine until this past weekend but then started a rapid decline. Last night she got all she wanted of her preferred treats, including salmon treats like I used when she first came to us to try to convince her that some people weren’t bad. This morning she got all the shrimp and steak she wanted; she preferred the steak. After that she rested while I stayed with her and waited for the vet to come to the house. The picture with this entry is one that was hard to get. Wisp loved to sit on the deck in the sun but she never really trusted people and so she wouldn’t stay out there if people were around. She usually did her sunning when we weren’t home. We’d get home and see her heading from the deck to the bedroom to go back under the bed. Sometimes though, when we were home and if it was quiet, she’d go out there to lay in the sun.......Jean Jeffrey, March 10, 2017 Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
