Snow
Snow was found abandoned in a field - starving, neglected, and wrapped in barbed wire. She was an old girl when she came to Eskie Rescuers, and all she wanted and asked for was a soft bed, good food, a little exercise and love. To our surprise, a very kind lady wanted to adopt her and lavish her final years, or months, with exceptional care and love. Snow was very pampered and cherished her final 9 months. Sadly, her body, so ravaged from its previous neglect, gave out on her and her mommy had to say goodbye to her. But before she departed, Snow knew kindness, care and love.........September 2016

Snow White
Snow White was tied to a box the first 12 years of her life until some kind person noticed her laying in her yard in the same spot. The owners relinquished the urine and feces covered dog to the concerned citizen and then she was taken to ERU.

Snow was a very sick girl. She had a leaking bladder and couldn't stand from being so ill with heartworm and severe arthritis in her hind legs. Her coat had quite a few bald spots which is a sign of poor nutrition. Snow even had a secondary infection due to the urine being held against the skin caused by her lying in it. To make matters worse, Snow could not withstand the heartworm treatment and a sanctuary would not take her without being treated. Catch 22. The suffering for Snow White was getting worse so it was decided that this little girl had suffered enough. Snow White got into rescue in April, 2005 but was truly free in September, 2005.

Snowball
We let Snowball go this afternoon. He went to the vet last week because he had 17 seizures that I know of in a week and they discovered an enlarged heart. Tried medications for heart and seizures but then he started having problems walking Sunday and Monday, in that he would lose control and fall over sideways or just collapse on the floor, plus he was still having seizures. Took him back to vet yesterday and today they called to say he has fluid around his heart. It was time to gently say goodbye. We took him in as a foster after he was at the vet to be put down for biting a two year old (owner had already paid fee and left) and gave him several years where he was loved unconditionally and spoiled rotten - but now it is his time to go although he will take a piece of several hearts (including mine with him)........Jean Jeffrey, March 4, 2016

Snowball
We wanted to let you know that we lost Snowball before Thanksgiving. He was having hip problems and some liver issues. No matter how we tweaked the meds, he was always in pain. It broke my heart. We miss him every day. And I think that he liked the mountains, He loved to walk around here and explore. Snow was my shadow, protector and guardian. And he finally got used to Gary and the family. He was loyal and loving in his way. He came along way and we couldn’t help but love him........Pat and Gary Gross, November 23, 2020

Snowball
RIP Snowball. We adopted Snowball at 6 yrs old, 12 years ago from Eskie Rescuers United. He became our family member on that day and has been a very sweet and happy dog. Truly one of the best. We will miss you, Snowball........Lance Wolak, January 3, 2019
