UPDATE DECEMBER 21, 2016 WE HAVE RECEIVED MANY APPLICATIONS FOR BUDDY AND BELIEVE ONE OF THEM WILL BE HIS IDEAL FOREVER HOME. WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING NEW APPLICATIONS FOR BUDDY. Buddy came in as an owner surrender because the owners did not have enough time for him. He is 1 year old purebred and weighs 21 pounds. He is VERY active and playful and enjoys the interaction and attention of people he knows. He is very wary of strangers. He is good with other dogs but wants to play, play play. He is still young and learning proper social skills, so right now he would not do well with older or smaller dogs who don't want to engage in rough-housing with him. Buddy discovered the pool and LOVES to swim. He also loves all toys, especially balls - and hopes his new family will toss them endlessly for him. He enjoys long walks and is very good on a leash. Buddy is house trained and does not mark inside the house. If he needs to go outside, he lets you know by barking. Buddy does not appear to enjoy the car like most dogs do, probably because car rides have never ended up at a positive or enjoyable place. However, he rides beautifully in a car inside a crate. Buddy's ideal home would include: A very active person or couple Preferably a home where someone is home a lot or works from home No young kids A large fenced yard A swimming pool with easy access steps Previous Eskie or similar breed experience Committment to training Buddy is still young and needs ongoing training and boundries. He is smart and a very quick learner. He knows sit, stay and down and understands "NO". He is very food motivated, so positive reenforcement training works very well with him. His favorite treats are cucumbers, fruits and vegetables. Once he settles in and knows he is safe, he is affectionate, loving and playful and he has LOTS of energy. He will require time, patience and lots of exercise - but his joy and unconditional love is well worth the investment.
