Blazer is a beautiful standard male American Eskimo, with plenty of love to give an owner who has no other pets. He is estimated to be about 5 years old and weighs 28 pounds. He is being fostered in DeLand, FL.
While Blazer tolerates other submissive dogs he really doesn't want other dogs in his forever home and would definitely do best without a cat around. He is okay with older kids who know how to behave around dogs, but we prefer he be in a home with no children or visiting grandkids. Blazer wants all of your attention and gets jealous of other animals in the home. He would be happiest with an Eskie experienced single person (he seems to prefer women over men) who will be home most of the day and can take him for daily walks. Once bonded, Blazer will be very devoted to you, and he enjoys attention, lots of petting and belly rubs. He is a wonderful companion dog. Blazer is housebroken. He doesn’t need a big yard as he tends to go out, do his business, and come back inside. He loves going on daily walks.
Blazer’s background has been traumatic, so a forever home that is calm, quiet, consistent and forever is very important for him. Several years ago he was found as a stray and he had been shot. An older lady with declining health rescued him and kept safe, but isolated in a small garage bathroom. After experiencing so much isolation he was slow to trust when he first came to his foster home - but with time, trust and bonding is being established. He now likes being inside a home and being part of a family.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
