I have a two-year-old American Eskimo/Australian shepherd mix (Sugar) that
I adopted in June 2016. She was supposed to be my husband's dog. My
husband passed away in September 2017.  I have another dog and I can no
longer keep them both. This dog has great potential with the right owner
but that's not me.  She is smart, loving and she is very cute but she is
super high energy and needs more time and attention than I have the time
or patience to give her.  She needs a place and/or person who can provide
her with room to run or more exercise than I can give.  I have a fenced
back yard but it is not enough for this dog.  When we got her she had (as
far as I can tell) spent her entire life in shelters, mostly in a crate.
She is an anxious dog (no wonder) who needs someone who understands dogs
and will be patient with her.  She has never bitten anyone and I have
taken her to the vet many times (routine stuff - she's very healthy), and
have had her groomed several times. I always hold her at the vet's office
to prevent her being muzzled which would only make her worse.  I stayed
with her the first couple of times at the groomers, then she was on her
own.  She is not a mean dog but she will be the boss of other dogs. She
will herd you and is too rough for young children.  My other dog is a
collie/Australian shepherd mix who is bigger than Sugar but is very
submissive so they get along fine.  I really need to find her a good home
but I am afraid if I surrender her to the animal shelter she will end up
euthanized.  Can you help me?
