June 30th. Buddy has been with me three weeks now. The main trait with Buddy is he is young, VERY high energy and can annoy older dogs with his boundless play antics. Buddy needs training 101 when it comes to leashes and staying still for more than a second. He is very sweet, housebroken and submissive when cornered by an older, annoyed dog. A person or family who is considering Buddy must have the time and willingness to rein him in. He now knows "bed" and stays in his cozy crate at night. He is gentle when taking treats. He is a very good boy in the car. Buddy is currently part of a six pack of Eskies here and only a visiting Eskie plays and plays until they are exhausted. Buddy had a potential adopter but he was too much for their five and seven year old dogs. Training classes for Buddy would give him the discipline and people/pet boundaries that makes an enjoyable companion. A dog savvy cat could be OK IF the cat would lay out the house rules. Buddy will expect to be able to play with the cat as if it were a dog. Buddy would not do well left at home most of the day. A fenced yard, as he has here, allows him to burn off some of his endless energy.
