My name is Travis and I am a 9 year-old mini American Eskimo. I am located in Santa Ana, CA, which is approximately 45 minutes south of Los Angeles. A month ago my Mom, an elderly woman, could no longer care for herself and moved into an assisted living facility. Unfortunately, she was unable to take me with her and gave me to her sister. My Mom's sister has two dogs and does not want me so she put me in boarding at Kennel Bortzhust. Earlier this week, my Mom's sister told the kennel that it is too expensive to board me and that she is going to euthanize me. The kennel employees decreased my boarding fee as much as they could but my Mom's sister said she is running out of money and that I am still too expensive. Currently, my Mom's sister owes the kennel for 5 days of boarding. Unfortunately, the kennel employees, volunteers, and their friends are not able to give me a permanent home. On my behalf, they have contacted all the no-kill shelters they could think of but nobody wants to accept me due to my age. I get along great with other dogs and children. Also, I was recently neutered. I do not have any known health issues and do not look or act my age. Thank you, Travis 5/18/09 Travis is going to be fostered in Arcata, CA.
