I am a very affectionate, neutered, 26-pound purebred American Eskimo dog. Even though I just celebrated my first birthday, I am still very much a puppy at heart. I love to play with my toys, run in the park on my long leash and play tug of war with my owner. I love to be around people and enjoy going for walks, provided that it is not raining outside. I always like to be brushed and bathed, and I do not mind having my toenails clipped and my teeth cleaned. My owner has been teaching me the basic commands and some tricks. I learn very quickly if given canine treats, especially the peanut butter or cheese flavored ones. I play well with other dogs, as long as they are not aggressive. At night, I prefer to sleep in my crate, but I do not mind sitting with you when you are watching TV, reading or studying, especially if you can give me a belly rub at times. I am still young and fearful of objects I do not know, such as noisy trucks, motorcycles or lots of traffic. I prefer quiet surroundings that calm me and make me feel secure. I am a perfectly happy dog, as long as I am with people. Although I have not experienced living with kids or cats, I am very friendly with adults and other dogs, so I do not expect that will be any different. In fact, I would like to be part of a family with kids, so there are more people to play with me. I am still getting use to car rides. In time, I should be better as the vet gave me medicine that stops the carsickness. I am up to date on all my vaccinations, heart worm and flea/tick medicines. I want to learn more commands and tricks, but my owner is really busy with her college coursework. I hope my new owners will continue my training and provide me with a loving home environment, so I can become a loyal family member.
