Hi, my name is Sukita and I’m a mini American Eskimo. I’m a little girl through and through. My foster mom calls me Suke-la-luke and ‘Lil Bit because of my petite size. I have a tiny muzzle and petite little paws. I’m a bit of a fru-fru gal. I love to play with my fellow Eskie siblings but my foster mommy thinks I wasn’t socialized properly when I was younger because I can be pretty goofy. She laughs at me ‘cause I make goofy sounds when I’m playing and do goofy things. I’m a bit shy in strange situations and will submissively roll over for a belly rub for security. When I’m introduced to a new dog I get scared and run away or hide behind my foster mommy. Other than being surrendered to rescue my past is a secret! I love people and love to give Eskie kisses and get belly rubs. I’m pretty good in the house, but because I don’t have much of an attention span I can get into things I shouldn’t and would need your watchful eye. My perfect owner would be someone who wants a companion to give lots of attention to. I enjoy gentle attention. I like being picked up, being with you on the couch, running with you! I want to be the apple of your eye and will reciprocate. I’m very good with GENTLE children who should be 6 yrs or older, but I’m still puppy and sometimes nip when I play.

I have a beautiful silky coat…pure white. You will need to groom me on occasion because I’m so soft I get little mats behind my ears on under my arms at times. I’m not difficult to groom, just very silky. I know the sit command but I get so excited looking at that treat that I have a hard time staying seated waiting for it! I tell my foster mom when I have to go potty. I like to sleep in my crate at night and am crate trained while my foster mommy works. It takes me a while to settle in the car, but then I will ride nicely. I’m not much of a barker, usually just barking if one of my siblings barks.

I was shy at my visit to the vet. They checked me all out and found that I am heartworm negative and I received all my shots! I am on preventatives so I’ll stay healthy and pest free! The vet knew I needed a gentle touch and everything went great. I am being treated for watery eyes and they are improving wonderfully!

I’m a very happy girl, young, not overly energetic, very sensitive, and can be all that you want to patiently train me to be!

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please visit our website, fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process. You can also Email contact@eskierescuers.org and let us know about your interest in me. I am currently fostered in Akron Ohio.

Thank you and WOOF!

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
