Hi, my name is Binder. I just recently made a trip up from North Carolina. I am now enjoying my new foster home in Martinsburg PA.

I'm a miniature eskie, about 25 lbs. I have a slight biscuit (light tan) color on my back. It gives my fur some character.

I am an active guy as I love to run around and play. I enjoy playing both with people as well as other dogs.

I am a friendly dog and love to be pet by just about everyone. I don't like to be left alone and will sometimes whine then. I usually stop after a while, but I really prefer being around someone. I'm a social guy! I enjoy playing with the other dogs in my foster home. So I would be good in a home with other dogs to keep me company. I also like to cuddle on the couch with you.

I do like to play with kids, but the one time that I do not want to be disturbed is while I am sleeping. It startles me! So it's best that I not be around kids under the age of 6.

I like to sleep in the bedroom on the floor, and I will sleep with you in bed if you invite me to do so. I love to cuddle in bed. But, I do need to let you know about one important thing. I don't particularly like it when people are having sexual intercourse. Yes, you read that correctly. When that happens I try to break things up by barking and growling fiercely. So it's best if you send me off to be with the kids if you're going to do that kind of stuff.

I am housetrained, but I do want to mark my territory at first. It's mainly because there are other dogs here and I need to assert myself. Once I feel at home I do not need to do that anymore. My foster dad used a belly band (kind of like a doggie diaper) on me when I first arrived.

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Jim: Jim@eskierescuers.org. You can also visit our website You can also visit our website and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process.

Thank you and WOOF!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
