Hi there my name is Idaho or that is what I am being called right now. A great couple rescued me from the streets and ERU is doing a courtesy posting on their website to help me find a home. I am not a pure Eskie something in my family tree got added and I’m a mix. Not sure what the mix is but there you have it. I am about 10 years old and also deaf.

You would think that is a lot of strikes against me but I am here to tell you there are many more up sides to my story. My coat is a bit short now because of having to cut the mats and dirt out of it.

I am a gentle soul and although I am deaf follow hand signals very well and am housetrained. You actually get to use the “hand wave” to tell me to come and show me which direction you want me to go.

I am kennel trained and sleep in it at night.

All I want is a person to love me. I just want to be with you as much as I can. Even though my rescuers do not have a fenced yard I do not go far from home.

Can I be your sweetheart and keep you company? Please contact Bob at kristinandbob@yahoo.com if you would like to give me my furever home. Or Roxanne at jdr@frontiernet.net

More about Idaho

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Special Needs: Deaf. A great pet very low key follows hand signals.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
