Hello!  My name is Aspen and I am hoping that my next home will be my last!  I’m a young boy who has had quite a bit of trouble finding my permanent home!  I was adopted from the shelter where I was at before I came to rescue and returned several times.  The adopters didn’t understand that I have lots of energy and really need training.  Since I have been in rescue, I have been learning how to behave better, and while I am certainly not perfect, I am making progress!

I am a very sweet boy and really love to have my tummy rubbed!  Like most Eskies, I am a little nervous when I meet new people, but I do warm up pretty quickly.  The rescue people think that someone in my short life wasn’t very nice to me when they used the “Come” command, because that word makes me very nervous!  I don’t do anything crazy…I just sit down and get really scared.  The nice rescue trainers are working with me to try and help me get over this word, but I still don’t like it at all!  I have been doing some other training too and I am coming along, but my new family will need to make sure to keep up my training.

I do well with other dogs and with older children, but I haven’t been around any cats before.  I would probably do best as the only dog in the house as I am an alpha dog and like to protect my “things”.  But the rescue trainers think that with future training and direction, I would probably do okay with other dogs.  Like I said, I just need some stable training and consistency in my life!

I am mostly housetrained although being in the shelter sometimes means that I may have to be reminded of what to do again once I get in my new home.  I love to play and run and have a really good time, so if my new family is active, I would LOVE that!  I also like to relax and take it easy with my people too…that makes me really happy!

Well, I really want to find my permanent new home soon…could that be with you?  If you are interested in me, the first step is to fill out the adoption application to get the process started.  I hope I hear from you soon!

 Love, Aspen

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
