Hi, my name is Butch. I am a very good boy, totally housebroken. I know many commands and tricks. I know sit, stay, speak, roll over, dance, spin, high five, shake, come. I also know some words like outside, treat, ride (in the car), walk, upstairs, and look.

I like to ride in the back seat of the car and look out at everything that is going on. My house manners are wonderful, I do not make any mistakes in the house. Even when I am left at home for 10 hours per day I am fine. I am also good with other dogs. I can be a bit food aggressive, although if another dog challenges me I will back down.

I tend to be a little nervous around new people, but as long as they give me a chance to warm up to them, I am fine. Once I get to know you, I am a very affectionate boy. I love to sit next to you on the couch and snuggle in bed next to you.

I would do best with an owner who knows how to handle a dog and be the pack leader. I can be a dominant dog if you don't keep me in my place.

Note: Butch has been undergoing training to help with his dominance. It is not difficult to show him his proper place in the house and when done, he is quite eager to please. Both my children are quite comfortable with him. They are ages 14 and 17.

Here is a video that shows me running through some of the commands that I know. The barking that you hear in the background is from other dogs. Not me. I'm really focused as I do everything that I am asked even though there are lots of distractions.

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Jim Park: jpark@canarylabs.com. You can also visit our website You can also visit our website and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process.

Thank you and WOOF!

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
