LOCATION: BURNSVILLE, MN Hi my name is Sophie but my foster Mom refers to me as 3P. Petite, persnickety, and a pistol. I have so much energy my two younger foster brothers do a tag routine to keep me occupied. I wear one out and then the other one wrestles with me till he gets tired. I am what they call an owner surrender and they had gotten me from a pet store. Well it is obvious to my foster Mom I was not allowed to socialize with my littermates much as I do not know soft bite for play. My one foster brother squeals at me often and the other one gets upset and lets me know I have stepped out of line. It is taking me a while to catch on to that. I am getting used to the big dogs in the house but do not like to feel trapped by them! I will snarl and snap. I was attacked one time by a large dog and I am not that comfortable around them. In fact any new person or dog who comes up to me will get snarled and snapped at. Including the first time I met my foster Mom. I do not like to be touched anywhere unless I choose for you to do it. On the ride home from picking me up she was trying to figure out how to get me out of my travel crate. Well once we arrived I was so anxious to get out it was not a problem. My foster Mom gave me lots of space to get used to my new environment and did not try to handle me in anyway for the first day or so. I realized she was a good soul and now she can do whatever she needs to. She even brushes me but I get a bit squirmy when she gets near my back end. I panic at the vet though and have to be muzzled. I was so afraid I piddled on myself when the tech was holding me so I could be examined. My foster Mom and I spent a two days with a couple that was interested in me but I never allowed them to touch me. I would come up to them and smell them but the minute I saw a hand I would snarl and snap. My foster mom thinks if she were not there I would adjust the same as I did with her, but if she cannot get me over my fear the family that adopts me will not be able to have too many new people visiting or I will have to crate when they do. She picks me up and cuddles with me and I like to wrap by front paws around her arm. I cannot seem to settle down though and she is starting to do the T-Touch wrap to help me find my calm. I love to go for walks and it helps with my energy level. I also have pulled a lot of hair off my tail. It is a nervous habit that has subsided quite a bit since I have been with my foster Mom. Although I really like the punk look. I want my furever family and hope there is one out there for me even with my issues. Definitely no children and if you have another dog they will need to be my size and like to play rough. Please contact my foster Mom Roxanne at jdr@frontiernet.net if you have any other questions.
