Hi - My name is Lily and I'm quite the Eskimo Princess! I was first rescued as a young puppy from a puppy store. One of the workers there dropped me and broke my leg. One of my caregivers at the vet fell in love with me and adopted me so I wouldn't have to go back to the puppy store. I had to have surgery and I have a steel plate in my leg, which makes it look a little crooked. Sometimes I still hold my leg up, but I can run and jump with the best of them, altho I'd rather lay in your lap and be petted and fawned over! Anyway, with life's changes, my owner couldn't take care of me anymore and so now I'm in a foster care waiting for my furever home.
The perfect home for me would be with adults or older children who will pamper me with love, maybe someone who has had an American Eskimo before. I like toys and walks, but my favorite thing is sitting in your lap or at the very least, next to you on the couch. Sometimes I bark if I'm not sure of a situation, but once I know what's going on, I settle down pretty quickly. I'm okay with other dogs, but would be fine being your one and only!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
