Meet SnowBell, a 3 yr old female eskie from northeastern NC.  SnowBell was raised inside the house but then lived out in the yard for the past 2 yrs of her life.  SnowBell remembers her housemanners though and doesn't potty inside or chew inappropriate things.  She also remembers that in her past home she wasn't allowed on the furniture... but she remembers how nice a nap on the couch is so 'sneaks' up there with a lot of looking around and very slow movements.  Pets are allowed on the furniture in this foster home so SnowBell doesn't have to sneak but she does anyway and it's very cute to watch.
SnowBell seems to like being The Boss and will do best in a home w/ submissive female dogs or as a companion to male dogs.  She plays well with the young female pups and the large male dog in her foster home - but SnowBell and the foster home's own Boss Lady dog don't see eye to eye on who gets to be the boss.
SnowBell is crate trained, housetrained, knows Sit and will be brought current on shots & spayed 9/7/11.  SnowBell is currently heartworm positive.  She is being treated using the gentle/slow method which ERU has had excellent success with. Please download the file below to learn more about this method.  ERU will pay all expenses for this treatment until SnowBell tests negative (approx. 12 months).   SnowBell's heartworm treatment began 8/24 with a daily antibiotic for 30 days and a once monthly ivermectin pill - super easy!  SnowBell even gobbles up her pills when put in a dab of peanut butter.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
