Now I cannot get BoBo to come in from the snow and cold!
BoBo is an Eskie/white Border Collie mix with a pinch of something else as his snout and long legs don't go with his major breeds. I'll get pictures but please be kind as the fur on his fabulous ears has not grown back.
Jan 14 2014: Just to let you know I will be updating BoBo's profile once I stop laughing. Poor BoBo. I am starting to believe his showing of his front teeth and growling noises is actually his smile. I'll let everyone know once I confirm my theory.
2014: I just love this boy. After he comes in from the negative degree Maine weather he announces his wonderful self then runs into the den like his tail is on fire. Once there BoBo gets in the play position and is all for raising the roof in fun play. I have been "moosching" his face and tugging his tail to get him desensitized from these feelings. BoBo does his growly bit but there is absolutely NO aggression when he talks to me. Don't let this lovely boy escape you.
Dec 31st, 2013
Oh Dear. BoBo just begged to be taken outside today. To please him I put on the leash and let him come with me while I cleaned up from the last two snow storms. BoBo is fine in the snow as long as it is less than 1/16th of an inch. When we walked into almost two feet of snow he immediately tried to climb up my body to keep his feet snow free. I did not allow that climbing effort so BoBo tried very hard to levitate over the snow. Again, no luck. We came in the house and BoBo wiped his feet on the Oriental carpet to remove any traces of snow and ice. With time BoBo will be fine with snow. BoBo is a very funny guy and will give many laughs to his forever home family.
See update below in red.
Why I was surrender by my people after they had me since I was a puppy is hard to believe….they said it was because they had a new 2-legged baby.
Well I must tell you I still need some leash training.
OH I am VERY SMART!!! So I would be best for a Eskie experienced family with a strict Alpha owner.
We have 4 Eskies here and we all get along fine and dandy…we also have 4-kitty’s here that are “dog smart” , they just run when I bark at them, once in a while I chase them. Small children annoy me…so it would be best to find a little kid friendly dog…not me.
Update
BoBo recently arrived in Maine from Boca Raton, Florida. BoBo was a dream boy on the long ride home and quietly sat in the navigator's (passenger) seat. BoBo really likes to ride in cars. BoBo has now been here over a week and has a few quirks. BoBo is a growly talker. When I love on him him growly talks. When I love on him and the other four Eskies come near he has a louder growly talk. With his owner BoBo learned to growl and show his teeth so the humans backed off. Here, BoBo has learned he will see his loving foster mom throw a fit and read him the riot act if he gets uppity with me. To reinforce his charm school courses my standard Eskie is more than happy to thrash his funny looking butt. BoBo is half American Eskimo Dog, half curly sheep coat and half antelope. Yup, a lot of halves but that best describes the little darling. BoBo will do very well with adults who can immediately stop his uppity and bratty ways with a quick verbal correction. BoBo is a mix of bravado and hot air. Children are not a good mix as they just don't have the skills to keep him in check. Adults only please. BoBo really is a joy. Playing with BoBo he is very careful to keep my hand out of his mouth. The slightly murderous sounds that he emits while playing will not scare any adult who has had a very verbal dog in their life. BoBo could be an only dog but I feel he might become the spoiled four legged dog all the neighbors hate. With a total of five American Eskimo Dogs and two old cats here BoBo is doing really well. He's mostly noise and no action but again, no children please. BoBo likes to chase cats but has never been disciplined with sharp claws. BoBo also has the funny quirk of barking loudly when he comes in the house. I'm not sure if he is announcing his wonderful self or he's just an idiot. Either way, BoBo is a treat to know and a very good boy once rules are established, consistent and clear with him.
BoBo is now crate trained! He was not use to a crate and had a snarky attitude when I first tried to get him into a crate. After a week BoBo has decided he loves his crate and goes in during the day time to take a rest from his strenuous resting in the den. Without cats or other small mammals as pets BoBo would be fine loose in the home.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
