Hi, I'm back again. I've settled in to my foster home and am doing good. I am told I am a very well behaved dog. I have good news, I don't bark as much as most eskies. I am classified in the middle as far as the barking goes. I am learning commands, and the hardest one has been stay. I am doing so much better with stay. Oohh I almost forgot, I have been back to the vet and have a total clean bill of health, and don't have to go back. I have gained weight and my hair is growing back. And for the finale, I get along with 2 out of 3 cats here. WooHoo. I really like being with my humans most of all. I like to play with the other dogs at times, and my favorite toy is a rope toy. I am the only one here who plays with the rope toys. My 2nd favorite is little stuffed animals. I even get chew bones, and am not hindered by my lack of teeth. Yummy, yummy in my tummy. I am really ready to be adopted into a forever home, so please consider me. Oh yeah, I still don't get on the furniture except during thunderstorms, and when they let off firecrackers. Please take me home. Atka-Guardian Spirit, Benevolent One. Atka is my name and when you are done reading my story you will know why the name Atka was bestowed upon me. It wasn't long ago I was over on the Western Slope. I had a life I can't remember, I will tell you what I do remember. Somehow I ended up wandering the streets, nowhere to go, I could recognize no one with whom I was familiar. It was a lonely existence, days were long, nights mostly cold. Then my health started to fail, we know what happens next when you have no HMO. Ha ha. I got an infection in my mouth and it spread to my teeth. It wasn't long before I could no longer eat, next came the drastic weight loss. I slowly got worse, the infection spread and took a toll elswhere other than just teeth. It wasn't long before the doggy police found me and took me to doggy jail. I don't ever recall being there before, but who knows for sure. They were very concerned about my teeth and inability to eat. I saw a doctor right away. I was able to keep all 4 canine teeth and a couple in between the top canines. Luckily the rescue group spoke up for me and my life was spared. It was a long recovery, but I'd like to tell you about the present. I can eat just fine, I get the small nugget dry food. Sometimes dry, sometimes mixed with water. Most times I get liver mixed in with it. I am gaining weight rapidly and eat 3-4 times a day. I am a very good boy. I am house trained, totally potty trained with no marking inside at all. I play with toys and am very affectionate and don't mind showing affection. I never get on the furniture, and am crate trained. I am not good with cats though, my only down fall. If you pick me, you won't be disappointed, oh yeah I hardly bark much at all. *** Location ***: If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Kris Shipman: kashipman1965@gmail.com.
