August 19th:  Buddy's energy has risen and I'll have to credit his love of fruits and vegetables.  Aside from pineapple he loves mixed berries, melon and, on the veggy side he loves carrots, broccoli and most fresh or frozen veggies I've offered him.  He plays more now although not in the frantic way my Eskies display on a daily basis.  I still don't know if he likes toys because my rude crew will not let foster dogs play with the toys littering the den.

July 31st:  Well, Buddy my foster angel justs gets better and better.  On July 29th he had his full physical, shots and blood work.  This sweet boy sat patiently and quietly during the complete examination.  Buddy didn't even flinch when they drew blood.  One of Buddy's tests came back positive for Lyme disease and Anaplasmosis.  These diseases are from the common ticks found in New England and other places.  Buddy started 30 days of Doxycycline today which is a powerful medication that can clear both of the mentioned diseases.  After six months Buddy will need to be checked again using a Quant C6 test.  ERU will pay for the testing.  For the rest of Buddy's long life it must be this test as a SNAP4DX will always show a false positive.  Your veterinarian will understand the tests.

Today Buddy and I visited my fuel company folks and made the impression I knew he would.  A high energy crazy kid outside and a complete charm school graduate in the offices.  Buddy cordially greeted everyone and sat by them before he received his ear scratches/loving.

I cannot say this very often but if I wanted a fourth Eskie it would be Buddy.  I am NOT keeping Buddy because I would then have four Eskies and would need to give up fostering.  I'm not willing to do that so someone who is smarter than I look needs to step up and give this amazing gentle boy a life time of happiness.

July
24:  Buddy is an owner surrender due to difficult financial times.  Buddy has always been well loved and is pretty much a no issue loving Eskie.  Buddy is only nine so although he loves to play and be foolish he is long past the younger Eskie crazy stage(s)
He has fit in beautifully with my three Eskies and has recently started rough house play with my standard male.  There are  no aggression issues with food or toys.  Buddy knows "bed" and goes right in to his crate at night. Buddy previously slept with his owner.  He has lived with a cat and notices my two cats but shows little interest in them.  Outside he would probably chase them.  Buddy loves to go for walks and car rides.

In the house Buddy has the best manners.  He can be trusted alone and will quietly wait for your return.  When you call Buddy he comes right away, tail wagging, and slides into a "sit" position to get his ear rubs.

I do not have history of Buddy being around children 24/7 so I would say no to young children.  Mid teens up would probably be OK.

Buddy is due soon for his vet check and booster shots.  He will be able to go home after that is complete.  Buddy will not be a 15-18 year commitment as a puppy would be but will give many, many years of great companionship to the right family.  Please fill out an application now if you are interested in this wonderful boy.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
