Hi!

I'm Komo.  I am just about as cute as they come, and have had a great life, but my owners had to give me up for my safety.  I like to have fun just like all the other dogs, but I guess my playful barking just wasn't what the neighbors have in mind.  I'm working on this now, but it's not really a big deal if I have other stuff to do.  I just want my people to know I'm there or if someone comes up to the house.

I have a couple of features other Eskies dont-  My beautiful copper colored eyes for one... and I have a pink nose too!  Other dogs are so much fun!  I like to check them out first, just to make sure I'm OK, but playing is so much fun!  I only protect my food bowl a little if a dog tries to steal out of it, but I'm never ever mean... I just want to take time eating my meal! I also like to play games.  I know how to shake paws and sit and come to you.  I have a cool looking coat to put on for the winter that keeps the ice balls off so I can play more.  I love snow, and hiking too! I also have a lot of experience with kids, though we all know that it'd be a good idea to make sure I'm not alone.  I never know what might happen and would prefer to have someone there to tell me what to do! No one really knows how I'd do with a kitty.

I'm learning to use a dog door, and will get in my crate if I know there's a yummy treat.  Since I like talking a lot, sometimes it takes me awhile to settle down, but after a few minutes, I'm peaceful and happy.  I'm so glad to have my crate, as I know it'll make me an even better travel buddy than I was a couple of months ago!

Since I got to skip the shelter life, I'm a pretty happy guy.  I have a spring in my step and would love to be with you all day, even if it's just you and me, you with a book and me in a sunny spot by the window.  If you have other dogs, that's awesome too! My owners made sure to tell everyone how well I listen and I just know that I'd be great in a home with some people who get out a lot and can take me with them.  Since I'm only 4 years old, there is so much to do, so please make sure you have enough love and attention for 10-15 more years of fun!

Anyway, if you'd like a young dog that still has plenty of pep for years to come, I'd like to meet you. I'm pretty new to this foster thing, and might have some more stories to tell you later, but I'm a pup who's known nothing but love his whole life and would be happy to give you some!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
