Bear is a very friendly 15# mini american eskimo. He is up to date on his shots, neutered, lyme* was detected and treated and is also housetrained. His left eye is partially blind but can see shadows (there is no pain or discomfort).  Bear is very lovable, aims to please, loves to go on walks, belly rubs and is great with kids & other dogs.  Please e-mail my foster mommy Wendy for more info on me njbroncofan@yahoo.com.

**Bear has tested positive for Lyme.  This is very common in our part of the country.  Testing positive for Lyme means that Bear has been exposed to Lyme at some point, but does not necessarily mean that he has Lyme disease.  Bear has already finished his treatment which was 10 mg/kg doxycycline BID.  In six months ERU will pay for the IDEXX Quant C6 test which is the only accurate measure of the Lyme level.  A SNAP test (like a SNAP4DX or SNAP3DX) will almost always give a false positive for Lyme - once a dog is exposed to Lyme only a Quant C6 test can be used.  If the Lyme titer comes back at 30 or below then Bear will be considered Lyme-free.  If the titer comes back over 30 then ERU will pay for another round of doxycycline and a follow-up Quant C6 test.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
