Apollo is a super smart, loyal, protective, fun-loving American Eskimo dog. He is 5 years old.  He loves going for walks outside and riding around in the car. He knows sit, down, shake, stay, and high-five, but he needs a treat to be able to focus. He is extremely eager to please. He's a survivor and very brave.

He's house trained and crate trained. He was neglected and suffering from burn-like injuries on his back when he entered foster care. He weighed 16 pounds at the time of going into foster care, and now weighs 21 pounds. His injuries have healed fantastically, but there may be permanent hair loss on parts of his back due to scar tissue. However, he loves wearing tshirts and his hair loss/scars can be covered up by doing so. He wears a Thundershirt or tshirt all the time currently. He has no history of aggression or biting. Throughout his excruciating treatment of having bandages changed and medicine applied he was very patient and allowed his wounds to be treated. He's lived with cats during foster care, and he got along with them well, but he did chase them a few times. He's never lived with kids or been around kids, but he seems to love everyone he meets so it would be worth an introduction. He gets along with other dogs, although he does enjoy barking at them initially.

His forever family would ideally have some experience with the American Eskimo breed and have ample time to spend with him. He has a lot of love to give. He needs to be on flea medication at all times as he is allergic to the saliva of fleas. His adoption fee of $150 includes Apollo, his crate, his shampoo, his harness & leashes, his bed, 2 thundershirts, and a dog 'I woof you' sweatshirt. His medical records will be made available to his new family. If you are interested in becoming Apollo's forever family, please email Terri atpetsareforeverfamily@gmail.com and I will email back an adoption application.
