Buster is an adorable little boy. He is a happy dog who makes himself at home quickly. He loves to put his leash on and go outside or for a ride. He is very happy when you grab your coat, and is ready to go. He loves to be picked up and sit in your lap.  He is a bit of an alpha boy though, so you need him to meet your dog. He can be agressive towards some dogs. He does love to play with my one submissive dog, but he thinks nothing of taking a bone from my bigger dog  (Who is more than ready to eat him), and always wanting to fight with her. You can see that he thinks he's entitled! Lol. I think he would do well as an only dog or as a playmate for another dog about his age and size as bigger dogs seem to set him off. He loves to sleep with you, snuggling close. And he is full of kisses! He also loves to sit at your feet. He does go into a crate to rest sometimes, but it's not necessary to keep him there as he's well behaved, so we keep an open door policy as it seems all of our dogs like their own place. He actually will go to bed early and wait for you. And he sleeps all night, never moving from his spot on the bed.
He is very shy with strangers and doesn't like to be touched by them right away, but does warm up fairly quickly.  He would benefit from an obedience class as he seems to have a case of small dog syndrome. Or an experienced Pomerian owner. He loves his leash, but he needs some manners taught, as he wants to get cars and other dogs, so he's not a good canidate for the dog park either.  But he already is a great player and snuggler. So far he doesn't do any unnecessary barking, which is very much appreciated. And it's a cute small bark. Not a yippy bark. He's hard not to fall in love with. He just ignores my son's cat, so he should be fine with a cat.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
