Hi! My name is Anna. I am a very sweet 17 pound girl who is estimated to be about 11 years old, even though I do not act like it at all! I get along with most other dogs but I can have somewhat of an attitude with more dominant ones - even though I don't act dominant myself. I am not a big fan of my dominant foster-brother so we mostly ignore each other but I LOVE to play with my Maltese-mix foster-sister. We have a great time running around and chasing each other and tossing toys in the air. I somewhat tolerate cats. If they have to be around then fine but they better not get too close to my personal space. If they do, I will run them off with barks and snarls but I won't actually try to get them. Once they have run far enough out of my circle then I like to sit back and grin about it. My foster mom says it is quite funny to see me being a little stinker sitting there all mischievously satisfied even though she fusses at me for chasing the cats in the first place. I am housetrained and love, love, love to go outside. I will spend hours outside if allowed, especially if there is a chill in the air. I am not crazy about going outside during the rain though, so there have been a couple of times where it was raining too hard and I really couldn't hold it and had an accident in the house. I will reluctantly go out in a drizzle but you know rain messes up my hair! I was found as a stray and taken to the animal shelter before going to rescue. No one really knows why I was out as a stray but no one came to claim me for a whole month! At my foster home I have tried to bolt out the front door to take myself for a run a time or two. My foster mom told me I am not allowed to do this and it is too dangerous so she has worked with me to not cross the threshold unless told to do so. Now I don't try to bolt but I probably shouldn't be trusted near an open door with no human right there. I am fine in a fenced yard and love to walk the perimeter to make sure nothing is out of place. I really enjoy my crate - I have a medium crate with a big fluffy blanket in there and at night when my foster mom tells me to go to bed I go right in and curl up. In the mornings, though, I won't come out right away. I really prefer to sleep in and around 10 or 11 is when I am ready to get up for the day. Frequently throughout the day I can be found just lounging in my crate with the door wide open. So the most important thing you need to know about me is that I am quite famous for my belly rub requests. Belly rubs are my absolute favorite thing in the whole world ever! I will flip onto my back instantly at your feet every time you look down at me. And I mean every time! I also like to rub around on the carpet while on my back and it makes my hair go all crazy and fuzzy like those troll pencils. My foster mom laughs when I do this and says it is so cute! I had a dental cleaning and got my teeth all fixed up and shined so I will eat dry food or wet food and eat well. I will actually eat just about anything if you let me. They say I am a happy and affectionate little girl. I love life and am so glad to have been rescued. Every once in a while I will break out in a puppy play stance and zoom around the house and show off my spunk and zest. I am fantastic with men, women and kids of all ages - including toddlers. I live with a 2 1/2 year old little boy and a 5 year old girl and I adore them. The boy is the best because I can always convince him to get on the floor and rub my belly! It is a bonus that he drops food too! I am somewhat of an alert barker but mostly when I am outside in the yard. I don't bark very much in the house (unless I am barking at one of those pesky cats!). I am not destructive of anything except paper. If I am left out when my foster mom goes somewhere then she gets to come home to see various shreddings about the house. It is my gift to her. Most of the time though, she crates me when she won't be home and I am fine with that. Overall I am just a really great girl and I can't wait to have a furever family of my very own! I am located in Orlando, FL.
