Bitsy is a spayed female, up to date on all her vaccines, heart-worm negative, and she just had a dental. She has a very mild luxating patella on her left rear leg, which does not seem to bother or slow her down in the least - and improvement has been seen since she began taking Cosequin supplements.
We don't know Bitsy's age, but estimate she is an adult or a very young senior. She loves to run and play, and she can jump (on beds and on the back of sofas) with no problem. She wears her foster mom and younger sibling out, she is so active - and makes her foster mom laugh when she gets really playful and she tucks her legs and scampers through the house like a bunny rabbit.
Bitsy came to ERU in March 2014, when her owner died, and she found herself in the local shelter without any promising options. She is a sweet and loving girl, likes to sit in laps, and loves belly rubs and to be cuddled. She is crate-trained, and is perfectly happy to curl up in her crate and sleep when you are away or at night.
Bitsy is house-trained but until she learns her new potty routine, she should be supervised or kept confined in a crate or gated area.
Bitsy is not a nuisance barker, and only barks if someone comes to the front door. She is a very alert watchdog! She likes her walks and is very good on a leash.
Please consider giving Bitsy her forever home with you. She would be a perfect companion for an older individual or couple, as she is low to moderate energy, and is quite happy to take short, slow walks and take naps with you on the sofa.
She is being fostered in St. Petersburg, FL and if you would like to know more about her, please contact dyanlaphan@aol.com.
