Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi, my name is Skimo (as in, short for Eskimo-clever, don't you think?). I'm an 8-year old miniature American Eskimo boy who stands 15 inches tall and weighs 25 pounds. I have a full and beautiful fur coat as well as a very calm and sweet disposition. I've recently been separated from my brother, who just got adopted. I'm doing fine, but now it's MY turn to get a forever home! :o) I'm neutered, microchipped, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, as well as on flea and tick prevention. I'm also housebroken and walk very well on a leash. I'm good with dogs, cats and children. I would be perfect for a quiet adult household or a family with older children, though I am good with younger children as well. I would do quite well living in an apartment or a condo setting. And don't let my age fool you, because I'm still playful and have a good amount of pep in my step for being 8 years old! I love going for car rides and playing with my toys. My foster mommy says someone is going to scoop me up very quickly because I have such a wonderful personality-will that someone be you? Wouldn't you love to have me in your life so I can show you how sweet I really am? I can't wait to be in my new forever home so I can become your new best friend! If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Newark, DE with my foster mommy, Kim. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Tammy at: tammie@eskierescuersunited.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Skimo!
Eskie Rescuers United
|
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
