If you're looking for kisses, look no further! And a awesome snuggler too. Bennie is a 4 yr old standard eskie, and ready to find a great furever home. He was crated 12 hrs a day, and tied out when they got home so he wouldn't run away. Who could blame him for a little freedom? When I first got him, I thought he would be a runner, as he didn't like his leash, and tried to escape. He already has learned to love being walked on a leash, so hopefully he won't want to run away again, as it's so much more fun being with you on a walk. He just gets so excited when you grab the leash. I am impressed on how much he wants to be with you. A fenced in yard would be nice, or a place where he can maybe chase a few squirrels.  He has not been in a crate since he's been here. He doesn't want to ever go in one again! He is so laid back in the house, I have no idea why they crated him. He does like to be on furniture, even sleep with you awhile, but a cool tile floor is a favorite place. He will steal your place in bed if you get up in the middle of the night, but it doesn't take much to scoot him over, and he won't stay long. He loves to go for rides, and is well behaved in the car. He also likes to cool off with a quick swim. He doesn't understand toys, so he needs someone to teach him to play. He knows sit, down and shake, and takes treats gently like the sweetie he is. He always has a happy face, and loves when you come home. He is very treat driven so training should be easy. And he loves to please. He would also be good with older kids. Not sure about babies as we don't have any exposure to any. He would so love a friendly playmate too, as the grumpy ones here won't play, and he is so happy when he meets a friendly dog! He is being treated for lyme, and ERU will pay for his meds, and retesting in 6 months. He has no symptoms, it was just found by testing.  If interested, please email my foster mom at katana653@aol.com.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
