Hi, I’m Shadow the famous ERU TV star seen on channel 13 in Florida.  A lot of people fell in love with me then…now you have another chance.

I was adopted by a wonderful family who moved me to Maryland, but I had some troubles adapting to them and they had to return me to Eskie Rescuers as agreed in their adoption contract.

So now I am with a wonderful foster family, Mom, Dad, and several other Eskies.  It’s nice here.  I love to play with the other dogs.  I’ve been described as stunningly handsome and a “Dream Dog.”  I love to lay by my new foster parents, on the floor by the sofa when I take a nap.  Sometimes I can see my new furever family….Is that a dream!  Will they have children?  I like children 6 and older.  Younger children seem to get right in my face and make me nervous.  I'm skittish around them.

I'm housebroken and I can even give a woof letting my people know when I go to the door, to be let out into the yard, when they are distracted--but I don't need to that here.  This foster home has a dog door that goes out to a fenced yard.  I do love a fenced yard, but if you don't have one it would be ok as long as you promise to walk me several times a day.  I cannot ever be tethered outside again or I will bark my head off.  I really don't like that.  I want to be with you

I've taken on the job as watch dog at my foster home alerting them to anyone approaching the house (a duty I share with a couple of the other dogs).  Did I tell you that I know the sit command?   I love that treat afterwards and I'm good at catching them if you toss them to me.

I also like to play with stuffed toys.  I like it when someone tugs on the toy and throws it for me to chase but I can’t do that here.  The other dogs chase it too, and I’m not fast enough to get there first.  I enjoy the games and being petted afterwards.

I'm current on shots and other vet things and ready to go to a new furever home.

Sooo….if you are looking for a television celebrity and the most handsome American Eskimo dog you have ever seen…It’s me!!!  Just fill out an application for adoption….don’t forget to put my name “Shadow in MD” on it and someone will contact you.

Hope to meet you soon….you won’t be sorry!!!!

Notes from the foster family:  Shadow has been moved around a lot in his life and doesn’t warm up quickly to new people or new families.  Give him a few months to learn to trust you and you’ll find he always wants attention and loves to be petted, but he’s not pushy about it.  He’ll just lay down nearby until you are ready to pet him.  He has a beautiful coat and is a very pretty Eskie.  He can be challenging on a leash, but as long as you make sure he knows the person is in charge he’s manageable.

*** Location:  Clinton, MD ***: If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact John: jjeffrey@crystaldragons.net. You can also visit our website and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process. Thank you and WOOF!

More about Shadow in MD

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
