Hi, my name is Beauregard, but everyone calls me Beau (my foster mommy calls me Beau-Beau! HeHe!). I'm a 5-year old small standard-sized American Eskimo male who weighs about 25 pounds. I used to live in sunny Florida, but my lady owner passed away suddenly, so I have now been relocated to the greater nether-regions of Illinois (BRRRRR, it sure is cold up here!) I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm housebroken for the most part, though I do tend to have little accidents when I get excited, but that may be because I'm still adjusting to a brand new way of life here in foster care. I'm leash-trained, and I really enjoy going for long walks. Just before I came to my foster home I was temporarily in a household of multiple dogs, and I don't mind admitting that I didn't care much for that. Even though I get along great with my Eskie foster brother, I think I'd prefer to be the only dog in my new home, because I really crave your attention, and that wouldn't be fair to other dogs that might be around. But I'm really good with cats (actually, I just ignore them). My foster mommy just had a visit from her 6-month old grandchild, and you should have seen how I took to her! I wouldn't leave her side for an instant, even when she was crying. So if you have kids of any age in your home, I'll get along just fine with them (well, as long as they're not mean to me or try to torment me). I was never properly socialized around men, so until I came to my foster home, I never liked them. But my foster daddy has been so patient and understanding. When we first met, I protected my foster mommy from him as best I could, but once I began to realize he was a nice enough guy, I decided to give him a chance. And boy, am I glad I did! He lets me watch TV with him--we sit right next to each other on the couch and imitate potatoes. :o) I can be pretty active, and I love to play--I'm told I tend to act more like a puppy than a 5-year old! I especially enjoy playing fetch, and I have lots of neat toys that are all mine to play with. I'm a sweet and loyal boy who will give you all my love and affection--and hope you will give it back to me in return. All I want is to be the center of your attention--is that too much to ask? So here I am, healthy, single and ready to mingle! I'm looking for a forever home that is relatively quiet, and if there are adult men around, they just need to be patient and understanding with me. If you let me get adjusted on my own schedule, I promise you won't be disappointed! Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful new life? If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Deborah at: deborah@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: smdsma2000@yahoo.com. Better yet, you can go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Bradley, IL with my foster mommy, Mary. To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! and#9829;Beauregardand#9829; Eskie Rescuers United
