About Sweet Pea

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 05-261
Hi, my name is Sweet Pea! I'm a 5-year old miniature-sized American Eskimo female. I weigh 20 pounds, but I'm actually pretty skinny and could stand to put on a few pounds. I do have a good appetite though, so I'm sure I'll be at my ideal weight in no time! I came into rescue after bouncing around from home to home and then to a shelter. That hasn't put a dent in my sweet disposition, though. Let me tell you a little about myself!

I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm still working on the whole housebreaking idea, but I walk really well on a leash! I'm a large miniature Eskimo girl, and I'm so smart I learned my new name in less than a day!

I'm just great with people, including kids as young as 4 years old, but I would probably do best as the only doggie in the house. I've missed out on so much love that I would prefer not to share it with other doggies. (We don't know about cats because my foster mommy doesn't have any.) I'm a very sweet girl who loves to be with you all of the time and get lots of pets and belly rubs!

I'm a sweet and lovable little girl who is waiting for my new forever family-will that be you? Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life? If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Rockford, IL with my foster mommy, Deborah.

For more information on me, please contact Wanda at: wanda@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: deborah@eskierescuersunited.org.

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required to adopt me. Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out our fosters as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!

Is Not Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
