Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hello, my name is Lillian! I am a small American Eskimo girl, around 2 years old, who could be categorized as either a large toy or a very small miniature! I stand 12" tall and weigh 14 pounds! (Toy Eskies are 9-12" tall and mini's are 12-15" tall.) So, I can be either one, whichever you prefer! :o) I am a super neat girl who is spayed, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I am potty trained and kennel trained too! I'm good with other dogs and am fine with cats, as long as they don't antagonize or hurt me! I am good with older kids, around the age of 8 or so, as long as the kids know how to treat me! You can understand that, can't you? Sometimes I don't understand new things and become afraid and start to nip, but I never hurt anyone!!! I am a lover and love to be petted, and would be ideal for an older person. I am very playful and won't wander off. I'm great on a leash and love to go for walks and long car rides. I even went on a boat ride not too long ago and had a blast! I'm learning to sit and stay, and my foster mommy is teaching me not to jump up on people or the furniture until invited-and I'm learning my lessons VERY well! :o) If you are interested in me, we can do a what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Rockford, IL with my foster mommy, Mary. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Liz at: lizh@eskierescuers.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me! Thank you and WOOF! Lillian!
Eskie Rescuers United
|
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
