Hi, my name is Sydney! I'm a 6-year old mix of American Eskimo and what appears to be dachshund. (I'm short like a dachshund and have a long body.) I weigh about 25 pounds, but I'm pretty overweight, so I need to find a loving and caring family that will shower me with love and affection, but not with fattening treats! I am spayed, current on all my shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I had a very badly infected toe that unfortunately got worse, and I just recently had to have my back left leg amputated. :o( But I doubt that will slow me down any! I am a SUPER-SWEET girl who gets along with everyone and everything! I'm very laid back and do not bark, so I know I'd make a wonderful companion for you! Wouldn't you love to have me in your life, so I can show you how sweet I really am? I can't wait to get into my new forever home with you! Won't you give me a chance at a wonderful life? If you are interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you (I'm being fostered in Louisiana). This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away! Please contact Liz at: liz@eskierescuersunited.org for more information on me! You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required to adopt me. Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out our fosters as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! Sydney!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
