Hi, I'm Buck, and I am about THE friendliest guy you'd ever want to meet! I am really hoping the new year starts out with a "furever" home for me once and for all!

In August 2006 I was rescued and that's really when life began for me. You see I had a very tough life until then -- I was chained outside my whole life. My lackluster "owners" couldn't be bothered with me anymore. I was turned into a shelter; they called ERU to come rescue me. The day my foster mommy got me is the day life really began for me. I learned what it was like to be in a warm home, with comfy, fluffy furniture, a warm bed, good meals, yummy treats, and toys. I also did so well with my house manners, and haven't had an accident inside, ever. My foster mommy is very, very proud of me.

I was shaved down to my pink skin when I was in the shelter, so I earned the name "Buck Naked" but now, my coat is growing in to all it's eskie splendor and I am even more handsome than ever. My mommy calls me a curly coat eskie, which means that my mane is growing in in curly ringlets. She says it makes me even more special -- I agree :) In about 6 more months I should have a full eskie coat.

I am a very friendly boy. I LOVE people and love to be with you all the time. I am a world class kisser too. And I like to think I am lap dog, all 30 pounds of me :) The best thing about me is, I am still young enough to keep up with an active family, but I am past the puppy nonsense of accidents. I'd be equally happy going for a run with you, or laying around watching movies with you all day.

I know my basic manners, and commands, though I do need work walking nicely on a leash. I tend to pull, partly because I am just so excited to get where we are going together, and partly becuase we play outside here, and don't take many walks (my mommy says walking three eskies is way too hard on her -- we get stopped too much for being so darn cute together!).
My foster mommy has a huge fenced in yard I like to run in, and I'd like my new home to have one too. Though now, I just like to play out there, not live out there.

I am neutered, heartworm negative and current on all my shots. I had doggie dental done in August, so I have a big bright eskie smile.

I am good with people of all ages and sizes, though older, sturdier kids would be best. I am a big, strong boy and could topple over a little one by rough play. I do well with cats -- I pretty much ignore them, since, after all, they don't have any treats for me. I am good with other dogs too, thought I don't really play much; I prefer people to other dogs. If you need a companion or playmate for your current pooch, I'm probably not the best choice. But if you want an additional family member, and/or a companion for yourself, I'm your man!!!

Oh, there are two more things my foster mommy says I have to tell you.
One is, I had a bout with lymes disease, probably from being an outside dog. I was treated, and am fine now. It's something you and your vet need to be aware of, just in case my symptoms ever return. My treatment is cheap, and easy, if symptoms return; all I require is a month of antibiotics. But I've got my paws crossed that doesn't happen, because being sick is no fun. The other thing is, because of how much I have been bumped around the past 6 months or so, My foster mommy is making sure my new family knows that I need to go to obedience classes as soon as we are living together. Even though I have excellent manners, classes will help us bond and communicate better.

I'm a laid back guy who is really is just hoping for a forever family of my own to love and adore me. Right now I am outside Philadelphia PA with my foster mommy, Jen. If you want more information on me, email her at fluffywhitedogs@yahoo.com , or fill out an application for me on our website.

Thanks, and WOOF!!!!

BUCK!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
