About Klondike

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 06-100
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Klondike! I'm a 6-year old standard-sized American Eskimo male who weighs 29 lbs. I just got here in foster care, because somehow I got lost along the way. Some nice people caught me and put up all kinds of posters, but nobody came to get me. I'm microchipped, but no one ever registered the chip, so all we could find out was that I was purchased at a pet store that's no longer in business.

So the nice people here at ERU came and got me, and I went on a long drive. Since it was apparently my first time in a car, I was unsure what to do, but I figured that out quickly enough. Take a look at my pictures and you'll see I decided the best seat in the car was in the back window! :o)

I just came back from the doggy doctor where I got "fixed" (I didn't even know I was broken! HeHe!). I also got all my shots and my heartworm test--and hooray! I'm negative! The vet said I was such a good boy, and he gave me a biscuit. My foster mommy now has me on heartworm, flea and tick prevention so I'll stay healthy.

I'm a very good boy who gets along with all the other dogs here, and the kitties too. Heck, I even like the child who came and visited here the other day! I haven't even barked yet. (I'm saving that until later, and I'm sure all my foster siblings will show me just how--and when--to chime in. TeeHee!)

This is all so strange for me. I'd never lived in a house before, so I kept going to the door wanting to go outside. My foster mom keeps telling me I'll get used to being inside--and I'm starting to like it already! I did have a few issues with marking, so she put something on me called a belly band so I can't mark. Today when she took it off she saw that I didn't try to mark anywhere. See, I am just so smart I'm already learning to do my "business" outside. And now that I'm neutered I'll do even better!

I'm a very sweet and friendly boy who deserves a loving forever family to call my very own--will that be you? Won't you adopt me into your home and give me a chance at the wonderful life I've never had? If you're interested in me, you'd better hurry up and get that application in, because I am such a sweetie I won't be around long!

For more information, please contact Wanda at: wanda@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: Justus4250@aol.com. Better yet, you can go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Carlisle, PA with my foster mommy, Gina.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you).

There is a $150 adoption fee required, and please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!
