About Sir Gunther Teddy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 04-171
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hello, my name is Sir Gunther Teddy Bear! I am a 1-1/2 year old small standard-sized American Eskimo boy who weighs 22 pounds. I am in the market for a new forever home! My family turned me over to rescue because I was becoming aggressive with young children and towards strangers. My family didn't discipline me as I should have been, so I got spoiled and too big for my britches!

I need someone who is willing to show me the discipline, obedience AND socialization that I need! I respond very well to this and just want to please you. Once I learn who is supposed to be in charge, I will be a real charmer! I am more or less on the submissive side and I LOVE my belly rubs! I would be best placed with an individual who is experienced with my breed.

Because I am very energetic I really need a fenced-in yard to run around in! If you are looking for a young kid like me who is highly trainable, I'm definitely your boy! I am neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, as well as on flea and tick prevention. I am great with other dogs, but we don't know about kitties.

If you are interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you (I'm in North Carolina). This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! ! If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away!

Please contact Leah at: leah@eskierescuers.org for more information on me!

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuers.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

Thank you and WOOF!

Sir Gunther Teddy Bear!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
