Hello, my name is Snickers! I'm a 4-year old standard-sized American Eskimo male who weighs 31 pounds! I'm a very sweet and adorable-looking boy--don't you think so too? :o) I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm completely housetrained, with no accidents and no territory-marking). To show you what a good boy I am, if I need to go potty in the morning and you aren't awake yet, I'll get up on your bed and lay my head on your neck until you get up and take me out. Isn't that smart of me? Although I'm ok in the car, I do better in the safety of my crate when we travel anywhere by car. (That means I'm crate/kennel-trained too!) Now I'm learning how to walk better on a leash and not pull. I'm good with other dogs, but we don't know about cats, because my foster mommy doesn't have any. I have very good inside manners and I don't chew anything, but sometimes I can play rough, especially with my toys. For that reason it might be best if I were in a home without small children (under the age of 10 or so), because I would never want to hurt anyone while I was roughhousing! I'm also a bit food aggressive, but my foster mommy is working on that with me. I bark at strangers because I'm trying to be so protective of you, but I warm up soon enough. (My foster mommy sometimes puts me in my crate for a few minutes of "time out" and then I'm just fine!) It would be great if my new owners could take me to obedience training and help me become a little more socialized, so I can bond with you and be my very best just for you! I'm very affectionate and I like to snuggle with you. Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life? I'm waiting as patiently as I can for my new forever family--will that be you? If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you! This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Owings Mill, MD with my foster mommy, Julie. For more information on me, please contact Wanda at: wanda@eskierescuersunited.org. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required to adopt me. Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out our fosters as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! Snickers!
Eskie Rescuers United
|
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
