Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog.
Hi, my name is Angelique, but you can call me Angel. I'm a 24-pound standard-sized American Eskimo female, and at around 18 months old, I'm just a kid! I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. We will be getting pictures of me posted here soon, so you'll be able to see how cute and adorable I am. Before I was rescued, I was mostly left tied up outside. Now my foster mommy is teaching me indoor manners, and to let her know when I need to go outside to do my business. I'm doing really well at learning these manners, and I'm very eager to please! I'm shy and sweet, and I get along fine with other dogs. We don't know about cats because there aren't any kitties at my foster home. I like kids too, but if my new forever family has children it probably would be best if they were older. That way I wouldn't have to worry about younger kids, with their more rambunctious activities, causing more commotion or stress than I might be comfortable with. Gentle humans, whether adults or children, could help me learn to trust people again and not be so shy. I need a loving home that understands that Eskies are not outdoor dogs, and will treat me as part of the family. That's not too much to ask, is it? I want so much to be surrounded by loving, caring people who will always make me feel special--is that you? Won't you adopt me into your home and give me a chance at a wonderful new life? If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Judy at: judy@eskierescuersunited.org. Better yet, you can go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Charlotte, NC with my foster mommy, Charlotte. To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! and#9829;Angeliqueand#9829; Eskie Rescuers United
