About Bayley (Buckwheat)

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 05-015
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hello, my name is Bayley, but my foster mommy calls me Buckwheat because I have a foster brother named Bailey, and this way no one will get confused! I'm a 10-month old miniature American Eskimo male who stands 14 inches tall and weighs 17 pounds. I'm more biscuit-colored than a standard white Eskie, but I think that makes me more distinguished looking. My foster mommy thinks I'm just too darn cute for words!

I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, as well as on flea and tick prevention. I'm kennel-trained and 90% potty-trained! I used to be an outdoor boy, but now I'm learning about the good life indoors, and I have to say I really like it! :o) I'm good on a leash, but not in the car because I get car sick, but I'm hoping I will outgrow that.

I get along with other doggies and just LOVE to play with them! I'm not the alpha type, but I don't like to be pushed around either, so I will stand up for myself. I'm great with cats and love playing with them too! I'm good with children over the age of about 6. We don't know about younger kids because I haven't been around them, but with my sweet and easy-going disposition we don't think that would be a problem. But I am still a young'un who is FULL of energy and likes to roughhouse while playing (what male puppy isn't like that, I ask you?) and I can bite rather hard! I don't mean any harm though, because it's all in fun, but my foster mommy is working with me so I can learn my manners better. I do need to be with someone who will continue to teach me manners and have patience with me while I learn!

I love to play with my toys and chew on those yummy chewies. At first I didn't know what toys and treats were, but I learned very quickly and now I just ADORE them! I have one ear that is up all the time and one that is usually down, except when I'm expecting a treat-then that ear stands right up! I think this adds to my personality and charm, and I think when you meet me you'll probably agree!

I'm a very happy and bouncy boy who will just adore you and want to be with you always! I like to show off my trademark Eskie smile, and I have such a shining personality that I know you'll be extremely happy with me. I'm cute and handsome and oh-so-adorable! Won't you adopt me into your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life?

If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you. I'm in Jonesboro, GA with my foster mommy, Kim. If you would like to know more about me, please send an e-mail right away.

For more information on me, please contact Leah at: leah@eskierescuersunited.org.

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

Thank you and WOOF!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
