Hi my name is Aspen.  I was picked up as a stray and was skin and bones so foster mom has been feeding me twice a day and thinks when I fill out (whatever that means) I will be closer to about 25 lbs.  But I'm cute as a button as you can see in my pictures. 

I'm very energetic and love to play all the time and mom sometimes thinks I have springs in my feet, hehe.  Mom has 3 other dogs but they are all smaller than me and I play too rough so mom says I am not good with smaller dogs.  I'm also not great with cats...I don't understand them so I just like to bark at them.  I would do gret with another dog as long as they aren't too small. 

No one has spent any time training me in my short life so I needs lots of it!  I really don't know anything yet and I'm just learning to walk on a leash and some basic commands like "come" and "sit".  I do learn pretty fast but I am going to need someone that will spend the time with me and be patient as I learn.  Since no one has held me accountable for anything in the past, I do have a tendency to think that I can do what I want.  But I do want to please so if you have some love and patience for me, I will make you proud! 

Like most eskies, I do have a warm up period so when I get to my new home, I hope you will be patient with me for a few days while I get used to you.  I'm loving to my family once I understand that's who you are.  So overall I like lots of attention, lots of exercise and I'm a pretty lovable boy.  Wouldn't you like to have me be your roommate too?

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
