Binky, a mature and handsome 35 pound Eskie, with a good disposition, if just a little bit anxious, was given up first by his original owner due to allergies in the family and sold to a woman who kept him about 6 months and then decided she didn't have the time or disposition to provide the care and attention he needs. He's pretty much a quiet dog, though he gets a little edgy with car rides. We think with time, and an appealing location after the ride that this will wear away- He loves to go for walks, and for an older dog he surely has the energy of a 2 year old. We are working on "no pull" and that seems to be going well. Ideally his new home would have a fenced yard and a way for him to get adequate exercise because he really enjoys being out for a walk.
He has had a bath/grooming, and all his shots are up to date. He just had a dental done with one molar pulled and is doing well- He is learning to be comfortable having his feet touched and some trim to the nails- Previously he was always taken to a groomer and we suspect hurt in the nail trim process because he guards his toes but with gentle touching he is coming around. He does sit on command, and does enjoy chasing the ball in the yard. We feel he would make a good pet for an adult couple or single, and i was told by the original owner that he's not keen on being poked at by small kids. Again, this may be something that could be changed with the right approach but we would prefer an adult household.
This happy fellow would love to be in the house with me, but the 4 cats might not be happy, so he is content to stay in the glassed in sun porch with a doggie door that he uses and is always looking for a walk. We feel he would be a loving companion and could be a great choice for an older adopter because he does get attached pretty easily.
