Meet Sly!

Sly is a courtesy post for his owners, who live in Braselton, GA, and asked Eskie Rescuers' for help in finding the perfect forever home him.

Sly is a beautiful, neutered, standard male Eskie. He is 11 years old (born 8/1/04) and weighs 20#. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines and vetting. He had his annual wellness exam in June, with no issues other than needing a dental cleaning. Sly is completely housetrained and doesn't mind being crated when necessary.

Sly is friendly, very alert, high-energy, loves to play, cuddle and be petted. He is very loyal. He is great around other people, dogs and children, especially if they are going about their own business. Sometimes he can almost be too energetic, or a little high strung - so an active home, with lots of walks and physical and mental stimulation, is definitely needed for this boy. Sly's overall health is excellent, and for being 11 years old, he shows no physical signs of being a senior or of "getting old".

Typical of his breed, Sly is alert and watchful and likes to bark. Because of this, it's not recommended he live in an apartment, townhouse, or with anyone in living in close quarters.

Sometimes, Sly gets into his "grumpy" mood and wants to be left alone. When he is in this mood he has nipped in the past, and because of this, a home with young children is not recommended. He is generally good with all adults and older kids who are respectful around dogs.

The perfect home for Sly would be with an active older couple or single person. A fenced in yard would be ideal given his high energy, or a commitment to actively exercise him every day, with walks or visits to the park. A home would be preferred over an apartment or townhouse, with close neighbors. Given his nipping history, he needs to go to an experienced Eskie owner.
